Rohrer & Klingner Sepia

Rohrer & Klingner Sepia

Sepia is an earthy dusky brown which is reminiscent of dry potting mix. While unremarkable in tonality, it is noticeably dry as can be compared to the iron gall inks above, and is actually a good performer in the smear test for a non-waterproof ink. If one seeks a more solemn brown that can perhaps be used in fairly formal business settings, I would pick this ink (assuming waterproofness is not a major concern)

Shading – Slight
Bleedthrough – None
Feathering – None sir
Sheen – None
Smear Resistance – Moderate, affected legibility
Drip Resistance – Moderate, with noticeable color bleed
Flow – Dry
