The Riksdag is Sweden’s seat of political power, housing its legislature and political decision making bodies. In the spirit of Sweden’s very open and transparent parliamentary democracy, the Riksdag has its annual open house, allowing the public access to the buildings for a few hours and having various activities within its confines. One may even attend a meet the people session set up much the way a parliamentary session would be arranged.

It is a great way to get a quick introduction to the various rooms and decisions made therein, and of course to simply appreciate the architecture and great effort that was put into allowing the public access to such a politically important building.
